New Classes

Prenatal Yoga with Cortney Phillips
Thursdays, 7:30 pm

Yoga is a wonderful holistic fitness option for pregnancy. This class will focus on stretching and strengthening muscles, alleviating common pregnancy discomforts and proper breathing and relaxation techniques. This class is open to women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

Come join Holli for a mid-day yoga class and leave feeling energized and centered - ready to enjoy the rest of your day!

The emphasis of this exciting new class will be on learning to use nutrition and conscious eating to honor our bodies in a holistic healthy way. With Annette's supportive and compassionate guidance learn to nourish the body and stop cravings and awaken your true desire to be healthy and vibrant. Not only will the numbers on the scale be lower, you will gain a stronger immune system, more energy and greater understanding and knowledge to care for Self!

Blue Buddha Yoga:
Learning to use depression for growth with Colleen Millen

August 21 from 1:30 to 3:30
Cost: $35

This workshop will help students reclaim their bodies and spirits by encouraging them to stay present with every impression or feeling that they have, no matter how difficult. Pranayama will help students hone their attention to their practice and breathe more space into the areas they house depression. Asana will move compassionately to opening the fourth chakra, or heart energy center, through a challenging sequence of poses appropriate for all levels of students. Meditation and visualization will ask students to observe their rhythms of thought without judgment.

Couples Thai Massage with Suzanne Miller

$45 per couple if paid by September 11

Relax, Renew and Revitalize! If you have ever wondered what Thai massage is all about or just want to spend a fun evening with your loved one that will leave you both feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, join us for this special workshop. No yoga experience required.

This popular style of bodywork is a blend of massage, acupressure and gentle yoga stretches. Benefits include releasing tight joints, stretching muscles, increasing range of motion, reducing stress and feeling relaxed. In this workshop you will learn how to practice some basic Thai Yoga Massage stretches with your partner, using your body weight and movement to gently stretch and massage each other.

Building the Immune System Naturally with Annette Doody

Our immune systems are challenged today more than ever due to environmental toxins, improper diets and stress. Learn how to strengthen the immune system to protect you not only from everyday ailments but to protect against life threatening diseases and conditions. You will gain knowledge in roots of disease, immune anatomy, selecting supplements, and understanding antioxidants.

Pose of the Month: Down Face Dog

Downward Dog is an asana no yoga student ever outgrows. It's the garlic of yoga- a panacea for whatever ails you, which combines the benefits of an inversion, arm balance, forward bend and restorative pose all rolled into one.

Last newsletter I discussed the importance of a whole diet. In light of the latest "carb fear" sweeping the country I want to explore a super food that is a carb! Study after study is showing that a simple bowl of oats a day significantly lowers cholesterol levels!

Book Review: Living Your Yoga

Sometimes is seems difficult to transfer what we learn in the studio to our everyday life. "Living Your Yoga", as the title suggests, is a times quite hard to do. Many times we seek some realistic ideas to help do just that.
