Thank you for reading Yoga Connection's first Newsletter!

I would like to introduce myself to you and give you some information about my background and my vision for Yoga Connection. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and underwent fairly typical treatment - surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Although I physically weathered the treatment pretty well, I spent the next year and a half trying to reconnect the fragment pieces of my body, mind and spirit.

I started taking yoga and was fortunate to have Annette, Pat and Vicki as my yoga teachers. Through the practice of yoga I found emotional healing, strength and connection to the center of my being.

I received my yoga teacher certification from Kripalu in March of 2003 and was presented with an opportunity to purchase the yoga studio from Whole Life a year later. Although I may own the studio, I feel that my role is better described as caretaker of the studio.

Annette Doody and Vicki Johnson started this studio as Yoga for Wellness in 1999. Yoga for Wellness quickly became recognized as one of the premier yoga studios in the area. Vicki and Annette sold the studio to Whole Life in 2002 and Jen and Kurt Johnson brought their creative energy and guidance to the studio.

Yoga Connection exists because of the love and support provided by the teachers and students who came together to explore yoga at both Yoga for Wellness and Whole Life. Yoga Connection will continue to provide a peaceful and nurturing studio dedicated to supporting the inward journey through yoga to connect mind, body and soul.

I am very excited about the new class offerings for May and workshops and seminars that will be offered in the upcoming months.
